CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The skyline of Carowinds will light up next summer as the amusement park announces plans to debut Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular, a million dollar nighttime walk-through light and sound experience featuring Snoopy and the PEANUTS™ gang, in the Summer of 2011.

Designed using a diverse mixture of low energy and high efficiency LED lighting, this immersive light and sound spectacular will stretch from County Fair through the entrance of Planet Snoopy and feature more than one and a half million LED lights adorned from trees and buildings. Midways will be accented by vibrant animated and stationary light displays, vivid theatrical lighting and other cutting edge special effects, all orchestrated to a custom designed audio soundtrack.

To showcase Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular, Carowinds will extend its operating hours until 10 pm every day from June 27 through August 7, 2011. This expansion will offer guests more evening hours of fun to experience everything Carowinds has to offer. Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular will come to life each evening during these 10 pm closes.

The Park is Now Hiring for its 38^th Season of Operation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Jan. 21, 2010) —Carowinds, the 122-acre amusement and water park located off of I-77, is now accepting applications and conducting on-site interviews for the 2010 season in all departments. The park plans to hire more than 2,100 seasonal associates for its 38^th season of operation.

Associates will be hired to fill seasonal positions in the areas of food and beverage, rides, games, merchandise, admissions, marketing, aquatics, security, warehouse, cash services and guest services. Those wishing to apply must be at least 15 years of age or older.  An online application found at www.jobs4fun.com must be filled out prior to arriving at the Employment Office.Interviews will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants can report to the Employment Office located behind the Park on Catawba Trace Boulevard Monday-Sunday, 9am-5pm, after having filled out the online application. CHARLOTTE, NC (October 14, 2009)—Carowinds, a 112-acre amusement park located at the border of the Carolinas near Charlotte, has announced a new discount ticket program specifically for guests residing in the state of Georgia. From now until November 1, Georgia residents can purchase up to four discount tickets to Carowinds or SCarowinds’ Halloween Haunt for only $19.99 each when they show their valid Georgia state driver’s license at the Carowinds main gate.

“This new discount for Georgia residents is over fifty percent off of the regular admission price,” said Bart Kinzel, Carowinds’ Vice President and General Manager. “We are proud of what the Park has to offer, and for many Georgia residents who have not had the opportunity to visit our park, we’d like to invite you out to experience what Carowinds or SCarowinds are all about—chills, thrills, and Fall family fun!”

Carowinds is open for daytime family fun on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-5:30pm through November 1. With over 50 rides, shows and attractions, including twelve pulse pounding roller coasters, the park has something fun for everyone! New this Fall is Howl-O-Fest’s Boo Blast, a frightful street party of family fun.
