- Must be a guy thing5 March 2010, 5:55 pm
I'll never forget the first time I heard about waterless urinals. It was the year 2000. The Kochs had arrived back from the annual IAAPA convention all excited. The guys, anyway. More... <!--break--> Mrs. Koch cracked us up at the next directors meeting. Apparently Will and his dad were pretty fired up about these new-fangled guy potties. "That's all they talked about -- all dinner long," Mrs. Koch wailed. "And we were in a really nice restaurant with other park people. All the... - "...no one alive who is Willer than Will"3 March 2010, 11:18 am
Did you celebrate yesterday? Maybe an extra helping or two of green eggs and ham? Or a bit of reading to smallish children? Will did. Sarah, who's worked in our merchandise department for years and years, asked Will to come to her school yesterday to read to a wonderful group of kindergartners. As Will was leaving our office yesterday, explaining where he was going, GM Matt said, "You know it's Dr. Suess's birthday, right?" Will stopped dead in his tracks. "Oh. Well, now it make... - Good-bye, dear and kind friend1 March 2010, 5:20 pm
We're all a little sad today, as we say good-bye to Frank Belcher. Frank was a sweet, fun, gentle gentleman who adopted the entire park as his family. Not that Frank needed more family--he already had a wonderful one. But when your heart's that big, you just keep adding friends and loved ones. Frank retired from a long career, including the Fire Chief of Princeton, Indiana, in 1980. He then became a full-time Holiday World fan. Reading comments posted about Frank on various Facebook page... - New method of crowd control at Raven26 February 2010, 5:42 pm

We keep hearing from folks who think the water park would be loads of fun in the snow. A Facebook Fan even recommended we host the next Winter Olympics. This particular ride would certainly start off fun, but the new decelerators on Jungle Racer might have a chilling effect. ... - "Don't track in any snow..."22 February 2010, 5:23 pm

Congratulations are in order. Remember when we asked you to vote for Chris Linn a while back? Well, the results are in and Chris was named "Entertainer of the Year!" He received his award last night in Las Vegas. Chris gave a 3-hour-long acceptance speech, so we'll paraphrase here and just say "Thank You" on Chris' behalf. ;) Congrats, Chris!... - Great Time to Get Work Done8 March 2010, 2:27 pm
It's gorgeous outside. The sun's been shining all day and I have to say, when the sun's out, I think everyone's attitude changes. Let's face it - months and months of clouds and gray colors gets old. Even I get cranky! But anyway, on the way into the park today, I snapped a photo from the main parking lot. I thought it looked cool, so I'll share: Love it. Coming in to this view every day never gets old. Never. Speaking of not getting old, we have a brand new ride that's being constructed. O... - Are You Following Us?4 March 2010, 12:00 pm

Have you heard the news? Our Cedar Fair parks are teaming up with MTV Games to bring you an all-new show called, "Rock Band™, Live." What is it? It's an interactive musical experience. There's a lot to explain, but here's the skinny: The show will play all summer at Cedar Point and at Canada's Wonderland. Our other parks will be "tour stops" on a cross-country Rock Band extravaganza. The show itself has live singers, performing numerous hits from the Rock Band games. However, at the en... - A "Before the Storm" Update25 February 2010, 3:00 pm

Head over to the construction gallery for the new images!... - Jennie Goes On Vacation24 February 2010, 12:20 pm
The Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad is a bit of an oddity - it's one of the only steam-powered, amusement park rail systems left in the United States. And make no mistake, it takes a LOT to keep this system up and running. After all, it's the biggest ride workhorse in our arsenal of 75 rides, transporting nearly 2 million guests in 2009 alone. That's more guests than any other ride. So yeah, the train's pretty important. But here's something you don't see every day: That's the Jennie K., w...

A few days ago Kathy Schwanke posted on the Valleyfair Facebook page about meeting her husband at Valleyfair. Intrigued by her comment, we asked her to share their story with us. Graciously, Kathy complied and now the Valley Girls' are happy to bring you a true Valleyfair love story, as written by Kathy Schwanke: "On July 13, 1980...I was 15 years old, between my Sophmore and Junior year of high school.
