All,
It’s our last weekend of the 2009 season here at Ghost Town and I want to thank all of our extremely valued employees that made this year possible. I also want to thank each and every guest, resident, businesses owner, and investor who continues to believe in our mission and for your kind words of support of Ghost Town throughout this year. On Sunday, I would like to extend a special offer to every resident of Haywood County to join us at Ghost Town in The Sky for a day at the park as well as the last gunfight of the season. We would like to offer each resident of Haywood County the significantly reduced admission price of $15 for adults and $7.50 for children. We do this in appreciation of each of you, your friends and family and our own “Apache Kid” Robert Bradley has planned a final gunfight that is sure to be an emotional theatrical production. The House of Terror and Cliffhanger Roller Coaster will also be open at 6pm Sunday until we leave for an additional $10. Join us for dinner and live entertainment at the Buck Mountain Saloon Sunday evening, November 1st , and lets finish this season as we began, together.
This was truly a building year for Ghost Town in the Sky. Each employee has been extremely dedicated to operational efficiency, cleanliness and putting your park, a true community asset, back together better than ever before. Although we will continue to improve and strive for excellence each year, we have accomplished much in the face of adversity and for that I remain humbled and thankful for each of you. As I was thinking about what to say to our folks here at Ghost Town on our last weekend, I came across a quote from David Brinkley that was very fitting for each of us that continue to work towards making Maggie Valley and this entire region a successful place to live work and play once again.
“A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.”
I thought that to be very fitting given the issues we have all faced in the tourism industry and in our personal lives. I would only change one word in that quote and it would be from “A successful man.…” to “A successful team….” It truly has taken all of us to make a difference and together, I am confident and determined that our 2010 season will be a success and one step towards rebuilding tourism and a balanced quality of life for all that visit Ghost Town in the Sky and choose to call Maggie Valley home.
Please feel free to forward this message to those that may want to join us on Sunday. See you this weekend and have a safe and Happy Halloween.
Travel safe,
